Questions Answers

Are you a non-profit 501(c)(3)?

Yes, we are a non-profit corporation.

If I donate, does my local school get the program?
With your donation, we send lessons to your school of choice.

If I donate, will 100% of the money go to the educational in schools program?
Yes.  Unless you indicate that you would like to be a tour sponsor of Highland Echoes, The Show (which means your business will be advertised directly to our show ticket buyers) then every $1 you donate goes directly to the expenses of providing schools with 'Scotland In The Classroom'.

How do you know the teachers will use this program?

We are giving the program to the schools and teachers who indicate that they want to use the program in their schools. We follow up to answer their questions and offer guidance. We also provide a closed online group for all teachers to discuss the plans, ask questions and share success stories from their classroom implementation.

Are you providing more information to the schools about local Scottish events?

Highland Echoes is continually adding resources to the teachers.   We want to be sure that those students and families who would like to be involved in Scottish Dance, Pipes Band, Burns Dinners, Highland Games and Societies are referred their closest option.

Who wrote the lesson plans and have they been used in schools yet?
A team of teachers who have a background in Scottish history, Scottish Traditions and culture wrote the plans to accommodate curriculum needs and to ensure ease of use for the average teacher. They have been tested in many schools by our lesson writers and by teachers who have no background experience with Scottish Culture. We are continually testing and making changes to ensure a quality experience for the students and teachers. The project has also been reviewed by school administrators to ensure the quality of content.

How much does it cost to give a school lifetime access to the entire elementary school?

To license the lifetime use of 'Scotland in the Classroom' and our full team support their is a one time cost of $997.
The Music course only is also available as separate packages for $347.

Are the lessons in a PDF download form?
All the lessons are inside of an online module which the school will have password protected access to. Inside of the module are all the lessons broken down by subject (teacher). Inside each lesson the teacher can watch and/or download the video tutorial to get started. All the supplies, scripted plans, audio, images and worksheets are downloadable PDFs and MP3 files for each of use.  There are also comment sections under each introduction video where teachers can ask questions and or share their own ideas with other teachers.

Which grades are you serving?

The lessons are made such that each grade will get at least one lesson per subject (music, art, PE and general) every year. It is a cycle program in order to reach all children in multiple disciplines throughout their elementary education. However, the lessons are also made to stand on their own and additional resources are provided for expansion if desired. Our Team is constantly adding content. As the donations increase, the lessons will also.
